Special Report from St. Francis Church, Kot Lakhpat – Sacrament of Confirmation, October 12, 2025
It was a day of joy and spiritual renewal at St. Francis Church, Kot Lakhpat, Lahore, as 225 candidates received the Sacrament of Confirmation from His Grace Archbishop Benny Mario Travas, Apostolic Administrator of the Archdiocese of Lahore, on Sunday, 12 October 2025.

The celebration began with a warm and grand welcome for the Archbishop at 8:30 a.m. The faithful expressed their love and reverence through garlands, bouquets, and the release of balloons and doves—symbols of joy, freedom, and the Holy Spirit. The band of St. Mary’s High School also rendered an impressive salute, adding colour and solemnity to the occasion. As His Grace made his way toward the presbytery before the Mass, the faithful showered petals with deep devotion, marking the moment with heartfelt reverence.

During the Holy Eucharist—which also marked the celebration of Parish Day—Archbishop Travas lit a candle before the statue of St. Francis of Assisi, invoking his intercession for the parish community. In his homily, His Grace reflected on the life and virtues of St. Francis, describing him as “a role model for all believers—an icon of humility, obedience, poverty, and chastity.”

Encouraging the newly confirmed and all the faithful, he emphasised:
“Be strong in faith and filled with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The stability of our faith and the strength of our commitment come from God’s Spirit dwelling within us.”

At the conclusion of the Mass, Archbishop Travas expressed his gratitude to Rev. Fr. Henry Paul, OFM Cap., the parish priest, as well as to the parents, teachers, and catechists who prepared the candidates for this important sacrament. Fr. Henry Paul, in turn, thanked the Archbishop for his pastoral presence, kindness, and fatherly love.

The faithful, in a gesture of affection and gratitude, offered garlands, reaffirming their unity and devotion to the Church. The entire celebration was a beautiful testimony of faith, community, and the guiding presence of the Holy Spirit among God’s people.
