On April 1, 2026, the clergy of the Archdiocese of Lahore gathered at the Renewal Center Youhanabad for a Day of Prayer centered on the theme “The Cross: Sign of Sacrifice and Glory.”

Fr. Asif Sardar, Vicar General, welcomed the priests in the name of His Grace Archbishop Khalid Rahmat OFM Cap. As he joined this gathering for the first time as Shepherd of the Archdiocese, he was received with a bouquet of flowers as a sign of respect, love, and communion.

Fr. Akram Javed offered a deep and prayerful reflection, reminding the clergy that “the Cross is not a decoration but a declaration, a declaration of love, hope, and victory.” He gently invited the priests to embrace the Cross as the true way of life and faithful discipleship.

Following the reflection, there was a grace filled time for personal confession, where the priests encountered the mercy of God in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The day reached its spiritual height in the solemn celebration of the Holy Eucharist, presided over by His Grace Archbishop Khalid Rahmat OFM Cap. In his homily, he encouraged the clergy to take up the Cross and follow the Lord with fidelity, reminding them that there is no glory without the Cross and no true discipleship without walking the path that leads to Calvary.
