SHAHDARA, LAHORE: St. Luke’s Parish, Shahdara, celebrated its 51st Annual Marian Ziarat on 30-31 May 2026 under the theme “Mother Mary, Queen of Peace.” The annual pilgrimage brought together priests, religious sisters, catechists, and a large number of faithful for two days of prayer and Marian devotion.




The celebrations were organized under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Irfan Jerome, OP, Parish Priest, with the collaboration of Rev. Fr. Nasir Emmanuel, OP and Rev. Fr. Adil Ambrose, OP.
The opening day was marked by the celebration of the Holy Eucharist presided over by Very Rev. Fr. Pascal Paulus, OP, while Fr. Irfan Jerome, OP and Fr. Basharat Siraj concelebrated. The gathering was attended by the Sisters of Charity of St. Jeanne Antide, catechists, and faithful from the parish and surrounding areas.
The second day of the Marian Ziarat coincided with the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity and was presided over by His Grace Archbishop Khalid Rehmat, OFM Cap., Archbishop of Lahore. Upon his arrival, the Archbishop was warmly welcomed by the parish community.


A significant highlight of the celebration was the administration of the Sacrament of Confirmation to approximately 170 young boys and girls. In his homily, Archbishop Khalid Rehmat reflected on the mystery of the Holy Trinity and encouraged the faithful to remain steadfast in their faith while seeking the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Peace.


At the conclusion of the celebration, Fr. Irfan Jerome, OP expressed gratitude to the Archbishop, visiting priests, the Sisters of Charity of St. Jeanne Antide, catechists, volunteers, and all the faithful whose participation contributed to the success of the annual Marian pilgrimage.

The celebrations concluded in a spirit of thanksgiving and fellowship, continuing a cherished tradition that has remained a source of faith and devotion for the Catholic community of Shahdara for more than five decades.
