Catholic Bible Commission Pakistan Strengthens Biblical Formation Through Scripture Seminars Across Pakistan

The Catholic Bible Commission Pakistan (CBCP) continued its mission of promoting biblical formation and deepening love for Sacred Scripture through a series of Bible seminars held from 18 to 20 May 2026 in Multan and Bahawalpur.he three programs brought together faithful from different communities for reflection on the Word of God, encouraging participants to grow in faith and strengthen their relationship with Christ through Scripture.

One Day Bible Seminar on “Matthias”

18 May 2026 | Pastoral Institute, Multan

A One Day Bible Seminar on the theme “Matthias” was organized at the Pastoral Institute, Multan under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Raphael Mehnga OP. The seminar gathered 59 participants.

The program commenced with prayer and a warm welcome to Rev. Fr. Joseph Shahzad, Executive Secretary of the Catholic Bible Commission Pakistan, and Mr. Tariq Tufail, CBCP staff member.

Serving as the resource person, Fr. Joseph reflected on the life and mission of Saint Matthias, emphasizing his faithfulness, humility, and readiness to respond to God’s call. Participants were invited to reflect on how the witness of St. Matthias continues to inspire Christians to live lives of commitment and service.

Mr.Tariq Tufail encouraged participants to continue their biblical journey through CBCP initiatives, particularly Kalam Ke Lakh Dost (KKLD) and Studies in Biblical Sciences (SBS).

One Day Bible Seminar on “Paul’s Missionary Journeys”

19 May 2026 | Ibn-e-Mariam Catholic Church, Bahawalpur

On 19 May 2026, the Catholic Bible Commission Pakistan, in collaboration with Rev. Fr. Younas Shahzad OP, organized a One Day Bible Seminar at the substation of Ibn-e-Mariam Catholic Church, Islamic Colony, Bahawalpur, with the participation of 63 faithful.

The gathering began with the Enthronement of the Holy Bible, followed by a welcome for Fr. Joseph Shahzad and Mr. Tariq Tufail.

The seminar focused on “Paul’s Missionary Journeys.” Fr. Joseph Shahzad shared reflections on the missionary life of St. Paul, highlighting his zeal for evangelization, perseverance amid trials, and total dedication to proclaiming Christ to the nations.

Mr.Tariq Tufail encouraged the participants to remain connected with Scripture through the various formation opportunities offered by CBCP, particularly KKLD and SBS.

One Day Bible Seminar on “Jacob”

20 May 2026 | St. Dominic’s Parish, Bahawalpur

Continuing its biblical formation initiatives, CBCP, in collaboration with Rev. Fr. Younas Shahzad OP, organized another One Day Bible Seminar on 20 May 2026 at St. Dominic’s Parish, Gulzar-e-Sadiq Road, Bahawalpur, attended by 71 participants.

The seminar opened with the Enthronement of the Holy Bible, followed by the welcome of Fr. Joseph Shahzad and Mr. Tariq Tufail.

The theme of the seminar was “Jacob.” Through his reflections, Fr. Joseph Shahzad explored the life and faith journey of Jacob, emphasizing themes of struggle, trust, transformation, and God’s abiding faithfulness despite human weakness.

Mr.Tariq Tufail also presented the mission and ministry of CBCP and encouraged participants to deepen their understanding of Scripture through the Commission’s ongoing biblical formation programs.

The seminar concluded with words of appreciation and gratitude to all organizers and participants for their active participation and commitment to the Word of God.

Continuing the Mission of Biblical Formation

Through these seminars, the Catholic Bible Commission Pakistan continues to strengthen biblical awareness and promote a deeper encounter with Christ through Sacred Scripture. The gatherings in Multan and Bahawalpur reflected a growing desire among the faithful to study the Word of God and to integrate its teachings into daily Christian life. The active participation of the faithful and the ongoing encouragement toward programs such as Kalam Ke Lakh Dost (KKLD) and Studies in Biblical Sciences (SBS) remain a hopeful sign for the continued growth of biblical spirituality within the Church in Pakistan.
