Catholic Bible Commission Pakistan Promotes Scripture Study Through Programs in Islamabad and Rawalpindi

The Catholic Bible Commission Pakistan (CBCP) continues its mission of fostering a deeper love for Sacred Scripture through ongoing Bible study initiatives across the country. Recently, two On-Going Bible Study programs were organized in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, bringing together clergy and faithful for reflection on the biblical patriarch Jacob.

On-Going Bible Study at St. John Paul II Church, Islamabad

CBCP, in collaboration with Rev. Fr. Azam Siddique OFM Cap, Parish Priest of St. John Paul II Church, Iqbal Town, Islamabad, organized an On-Going Bible Study session on 03 March 2026. The program focused on the theme “Jacob.”

Rev. Fr. Joseph Shahzad, Executive Secretary of CBCP, served as the resource person, offering reflections on the life and spiritual journey of the patriarch Jacob. The gathering began with a warm welcome from Fr. Azam Siddique, who expressed appreciation for the collaborative effort that made the program both meaningful and spiritually enriching. A total of 67 participants attended the session.

On-Going Bible Study at St. Joseph Cathedral, Rawalpindi Cantt

On 04 March 2026, St. Joseph Cathedral, Rawalpindi Cantt, hosted another Bible Study program dedicated to the biblical figure Jacob. The event was organized by Fr. Amir Yaqoob, Rector of the Cathedral, with Mrs. Rahat Farnaz serving as the SBS Coordinator.

The session was again facilitated by Fr. Joseph Shahzad, who provided insightful reflections on Jacob’s role in the Book of Genesis, highlighting his journey of faith, struggle, and transformation. The program helped participants deepen their understanding of Scripture and its spiritual relevance for Christian life today. A total of 47 participants attended and actively participated in the study.
